Hotel Deluxe features many of the recurring cast from his All's Well, Ends Well film series.<br/><br/>Hotel Deluxe concerns the Hundred Stars Hotel, located on Qiandao Lake in Hangzhou (also the key location in All’s Well Ends Well 2009), and how the hotel staff bands together to retain their five-star rating. Longtime staff members Peachey (吳君如 Sandra Ng Kwan-yue), Pacino (杜汶澤 Chapman To Man-chak) and OK Pao (鄭中基 Ronald Cheng Chung-kei) have become somewhat complacent, so the head office assigns tightfisted manager Cruella Koo (毛舜筠 Teresa Mo Shun-kwan) to oversee operations. The staff isn’t too happy with the new leadership and makes a few weak attempts at screwing with Cruella. However, she’s really a decent sort and before long she’s working with the team to solve the hotel’s many crises.<br/><br/>Besides a suspected travel critic, the annoying Jim (詹瑞文 Jim Chim Sui-man) prowling the grounds, the hotel staff must handle visiting superstars Audrey (熊黛林 Lynn Hung Dai Lin) and Marilyn (Karena Ng). Both have problems: Audrey is sickly sweet in public but foul-mouthed and difficult in private, and Marilyn is a new age oddball. While Cruella deals with Audrey (吳千語 Karena Ng Chin-yu) and her many demands, OK Pao handles Marilyn. OK Pao is a super fan of Marilyn, but that fact charms rather than repels her and soon the two develop mutual romantic feelings.<br/><br/>However, before OK Pao can get his own Notting Hill remake, old friend Bobo (薛凱琪 Fiona Sit Hoi-kei) arrives at the hotel with a special request: she must get married to keep her family inheritance, but her uncle Ho San (Raymond) seeks to stop her. However, Bobo doesn’t have a fiancé, so the staff finds a ringer in valet Mark Lui (于波 Yu Bo) and prepare to fake her wedding. The potential pairings triple when Bobo’s uncle takes a shine to Peachey, plus Bobo has unrequited feelings for OK Pao. Things eventually reach a head — but don’t worry, it all ends well. You know, just like in Raymond Wong’s other movies.")

_improvements-for-tenby-seafront-hotel-welcomed-after-39safety39-concerns-expressed.webp "Plans to rectify the poor state of the exterior of a prominent Tenby seafront hotel - labelled an ‘eyesore’ in recent years - have been welcomed, after safety concerns were raised that the premises could ‘pose a threat’ to public safety.<br/>Fresh concerns were raised about the structure of the Royal Lion Hotel located on High Street/White Lion Street, that overlooks the seaside town’s North Beach, at the start of 2024, with local councillors calling for ‘unsafe parts’ and ‘rotting’ timber bay windows to be inspected as a matter of urgency by the local authorities.<br/>Now a planning application (Ref: NP/24/0208/LBA) for listed building consent for replacement bays and windows, along with the insertion of a new door replacing an existing window and minor ancillary works for the premises has been put forward to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, by its owner.<br/>Tenby Civic Society has welcomed the proposals in their recommendation to PCNPA, stating: “We note that currently there is no information as to the material proposed for the windows, but in any case we would welcome replacement with wooden sash windows to match the originals.<br/>“The tall stairs side window could present some maintenance difficulties – others could be maintained from inside.<br/>“There was a little concern that the new door would open onto a narrow footway to White Lion Street - but Highways consultation could determine that.<br/>“If cost is a major issue, perhaps the most urgent replacements should be phased first, as there clearly are some safety concerns. <br/>“Maintenance costs have clearly stood out as an issue with this valuable building, important for its attractive period design and valuable role providing holiday accommodation. <br/>However, when discussing the application at their meeting this month, members of Tenby Town Council have asked PCNPA for more details on the materials to be used for the replacement windows. <br/>Councillors also stated that they were ‘concerned’ about the proposal to install a door opening onto White Lion Street, stating: “The carriageway is narrow in this location and vehicles often mount the pavement to pass each other which could compromise safety of individuals using this door.”<br/>")
