The 2024 New York International Auto Show may be smaller than in years past, but there’s no shortage of major debuts. Show-goers will find fresh machinery from Ford, Volkswagen, Genesis, Porsche, and more. Contributor Scotty Reiss (A Girls Guide to Cars) takes Forbes behind the scenes of the annual spring show.<br/><br/>The convention center’s lower level features an EV test track where you can catch a ride in the latest electric models. A sporty crossover that combines both the style and feel of the company’s sports cars with some of the practicality of the bigger Cayenne SUV. But for 2024 there’s a whole new type of Macan.<br/><br/>Calvin Kim, Product Spokesperson for Porsche North America, takes Forbes on a tour of the all-new, fully-electric Macan EV at the 2024 New York International Auto Show.<br/><br/>For Porsche, “performance is luxury,” and the Macan EV will be a scorcher, with 402 or 630 horsepower depending on the model. It will charge quickly thanks to its 800-volt architecture, which the automaker claims can go from 10 to 80% in just 21 minutes on a DC fast charger.
